Self Portraits in Broken Mirror Piece

As an artist, my interest is in taking an ordinary subject matter, and twisting it into an interesting composition by pushing the limits of design. Through out each day I am constantly finding myself looking for the perfect image. I believe that my strongest pieces have been created by sudden ideas that have not been planned out ahead of time. For instance, my original intentions had been to create a series of photographs representing a metamorphosis through the destruction of a mirror by a model. However, after I had finished the photo shoot, I was cleaning up the broken mirror shards when I was inspired by the complex and intricate designs that were being created by the pieces stacked in a pile. Luckily, I had a roll of extra film and was able to create my abstract black and white photography piece entitled "Self Portraits in Broken Mirror Pieces."
